Refurbishment of prominent Cairns water-front hotel Harbour Lights Accor. Interior Design prepared by Melbourne based In-Design International and delivered through edgearchitecture project management services.
Reception, foyer and guest rooms were refurbished within a strict time program, with minimum interference in amenity to guests.
Hotel rooms were stripped on a floor by floor basis, to facilitate demolition, cleaning, carpet laying and maintenance issues followed by replacement furniture and housekeeping. Coordination of the furniture assembly and install, respective trades, removalists and hotel staff became a fluid, yet disciplined working process.
The foyer and conference ante-room directed the interior decor from a static expression towards a stronger relationship with the Cairns waterfront and colourful reef & rainforest environment.
